CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR:Under the directions of the senior police leadership and as part of the ongoing road safety initiative, Central Range Police, Cuttack conducted an intensive enforcement drive titled “Operation Jeevan Rakshya” to ensure compliance with traffic rules, enhance road discipline, and prevent road accidents.

Enforcement on 15.01.2026
On 15th January 2026, road safety checks were carried out across the districts of Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha and Nayagarh.
•Total vehicles checked: 1,578
•Buses checked (Commercial/Government): 34
•Heavy transport vehicles checked: 17
•Total fine collected: ₹8,05,000/-
District-wise enforcement included checks on public transport, heavy vehicles and other motor vehicles, with particular focus on violations related to overloading, lack of safety gear, improper documentation and other traffic norms. No major suspicious activities were reported during the drive.
Cumulative Enforcement from 07.01.2026 to 15.01.2026
During the period 7th January to 15th January 2026, Operation Jeevan Rakshya was conducted extensively across the Central Range.
•Total vehicles checked: 10,916
•Buses checked (Commercial/Government): 34
•Heavy transport vehicles checked: 50
•Total fine collected: ₹44,34,000/-
The highest number of vehicle checks and enforcement actions were recorded in districts with dense traffic movement, reflecting focused policing to curb violations and promote safer roads.
Appeal to the Public
Central Range Police appeals to all road users to:
•Strictly follow traffic rules
•Wear helmets and seat belts
•Avoid overspeeding, drunk driving and overloading
•Ensure valid driving documents and vehicle fitness
Operation Jeevan Rakshya will continue in the coming days.
