BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a letter to Union MSME minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday has requested for setting up the extension centre of Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC) at Angul that will provide production, design, consultancy and training facilities to small scale industries.
The Union Minister said the Angul centre will be helpful for the development of skills of youths in one of the major industrial hubs in Odisha. This will also enable the youth to embark on project consultancy to the many small-scale industries operating around Angul region.
The letter further appealed to Gadkari that the establishment of such a skill development centre will further technical up-skilling of manpower in the industrial region of Angul.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the CTTC in Bhubaneswar is among 10 TRs/TDIs in India, with extension centres at Jajpur and Rayagada.
These centres have been providing skill development training facilities to youths of the regions, he said and added that their role in supporting the development of small-scale industries and upskilling of technical manpower and creation of employment prospects in these regions are of much importance.
The centre will provide affordable long and short-term training programmes for the manpower in the region and facilitate design, development and manufacturing of quality tools and components.
