BHUBANESWAR: 2005 batch IAS Officer of Odisha cadre Vineel Krishna Ravella appointed as Joint Secretary in Department of Sports in Ministry of Sports and Youth Services for a period of 5 years. Vineel Krishna Ravella is now serving as commissioner of land records and settlement of Odisha.
The IAS Officer was close aid of VK Pandian. A Government notification reads “ Appointment of 2005 batch IAS Officer Vineel Krishna Ravella, Odisha as Joint Secretary in Department of Sports for a tenure for 5 years or until further orders , which ever is earlier,”
The IAS Officer Vineel Krishna Ravella was first came to light after he was abducted by Maoists during his tenure as Malkangiri Collector while when VK Pandian became powerful, he was seen by the former IAS officer in all most all occasion and even Pandian’s high profile district visits.

Before elections of 2024, BJP held several press meet to highlight how Vineel Krishna Ravella accompanying VK Pandian, a BJD leader.
