On the occasion of the valedictory ceremony of the Gopalpur Beach Festival, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several people-centric development projects.

Declaration to observe the birth anniversary of Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja as a State Festival.
On the occasion of the valedictory ceremony of the Gopalpur Beach Festival, spoke about the development of Ganjam district. The Chief Minister said that expansion and upgradation works of Gopalpur Port will be carried out with an investment of Rs 16,554 crore. Through this, the cargo handling capacity of the port will increase to 50 million metric tonnes, and employment opportunities will be ensured for 5,000 youths.
CM further stated that the Prime Minister has announced the establishment of a mega port at Bahuda in the district with an investment of ₹21,500 crore. This, the Chief Minister said, will further strengthen the port-based economy of the State.
