BHUBANESWAR:On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was on Wednesday got the privilege of taking a holy dip and bath in the Punyatoya Baitarani river of Keonjhar, his home district.
The Chief Minister performed the ritual at Shaibya Kaberi Ghat on the banks of the Baitarani River. After offering prayers, he took the ceremonial dip (Makara Buda) along with his wife, following traditional customs associated with the festival.
‘The beautiful harmony of our great religion, tradition and culture is the true identity of Odia Asmita. Prayer to the Lord, May this auspicious day fill everyone’s life with happiness, peace and prosperity,” CM said.
