BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19, Subroto Bagchi was on Wednesday during his daily press briefings on updates, said COVID-19 positive case stands at 2 in State. A total of 133 samples were sent for test and results of 4 samples are awaited. No new positive case was detected on Wednesday ,” he said. Bagchi also informed that the health condition of the two COVID-19 positive patients is asymptomatic and stable.
“They are taking normal diet supplied by respective hospitals. Besides, communication has been made with 55 persons who had come in contact with the two positive patients,” he stated and added that 100 monitoring teams are working for the purpose across the State, including 10 teams in Bhubaneswar.
A total of 4,015 people have registered themselves through 104 Helpline and the self-declaration portal for home quarantine. On the other hand, 36 persons are in Hospital Isolation at present, Bagchi informed.
Meanwhile, the Odisha Government has released Rs 44.5 Crore for 30 districts to fight Coronavirus, informed Bagchi.He said that the Rs 44.5 Crore has been released from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to 30 District Red Cross Societies for taking necessary steps for combating COVID-19 situation in the state.
He said: “Ganjam and Malkangiri districts have been given Rs. 3 crore each while Balasore, Baragarh, Balangir, Cuttack, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Sambalpur districts to Rs. 2 crore each, Angul, Bhadrak, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Nuapara, Nawarangapur, Rayagada, Subarnapur and Sundargarh districts to Rs. 1 crore each and Rs 50 lakh to Deogarh district”.
Bagchi also informed that the Odisha Mining Corporation has contributed Rs 500 Crores to the CMRF for supporting the State government efforts to control the COVID-19 situation.“This is apart from the Rs 100 crores already contributed to CMRF in February 2020,” he added.
The Odisha government will provide incentives in the form of 50% higher price than the actual price of items to suppliers of medicines & medical equipment for supplying medicines ahead of schedule to hospitals, said Bagchi.
Briefing the media persons here today, Bagchi said: “The Odisha State Medical Corporation has declared incentive for early delivery of medicines and medical equipment like 50% extra for delivery in 7 days, 25% extra for delivery in 15 days and 10% extra for delivery in 30 days.”
“Full cost of transportation along with full payment within 24 hours of delivery has been assured,” he said. Bagchi also informed that during the lockdown period, the movement of vehicles carrying essential goods will be continued without any hindrance.
“Upon the request of Government, IFFCO has been the first to respond to contribute essential medical equipment like portable ventilators, masks, and sanitizers, etc,” the COVID-19 Spokesman said and added that the first lot has already reached.Moreover, Veterinary Services have been included in the establishments providing essential services and will be excluded from the restrictions during the lockdown period, Bagchi further informed.
