BHUBANESWAR: Odisha’s COVID-19 Death toll reaches at 11with 50-year-old man of Ganjam district, who was a Covid-19 patient and under treatment at a hospital there, died on Sunday. With this, the total corona death toll in the State rose to 11.
“The deceased was suffering from underlying co-morbidities of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,” said the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Meanwhile, as many as 186 new cases were reported on the day, taking the State’s tally to 3,909. The day’s highest 22 cases were reported from Kandhamal district followed by 21 from Khordha district, 16 each from Kalahandi and Bargarh districts, 15 in Gajapati, 13 from Mayurbhanj, 12 from Cuttack, 11 from Jagatsinghpur, seven from Puri, four from Ganjam, three from Sundargarh, two each in Balangir and Dhenkanal, one each in Angul, Bhadrak and Kendrapada.
However, a total of 114 patients recuperated from the disease on the day, taking the total recoveries to 2,708. Sundargarh district reported the highest 30 recoveries followed by Khordha with 23. Ganjam 17, Cuttack 11 and Mayurbhanj 10, Gajapati eight, Bargarh five, Nayagarh four, Balangir three, one each from Baleswar, Koraput and Sambalpur.
