BHUBANESWAR/BERHAMPUR: The Odisha Vigilance on Sunday carried out raids at 15 places in the state in connection with allegation against Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy regarding possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.The anti-corruption agency said the legislator had amassed disproportionate assets worth Rs 5.05 crore.
The anti-corruption wing of the State Government said, on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) by Dr Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy, Hon’ble MLA, Gopalpur AC, in Ganjam, on the orders of Lokayukta, Odisha, an inquiry was conducted by Odisha Vigilance wherein DA to the tune of Rs.5,05,04,656/- were found.
After examining the inquiry report and reply of Dr Panigrahy, Honble Lokayukta, vide order dated 27-09-2021, ordered investigation in the matter. On this, Cuttack Cell Vig PS case no. 06/2021 registered. Further,Honble Lokayukta authorized the conduct of searches in the case, the Vigilance said.
“Hence, today i.e., on 17-10-2021, searches are being conducted at 15 places of Dr Panigrahy, his relatives and associates in Bhubaneswar and Ganjam. 15 teams led by 1 SP, 2 Addl SPs, 17 DSPs and other members conducting searches. Further investigation is in progress,” Odisha Vigilance said.
