BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Vigilance arrested Deputy Director and PD Malkangiri Watershed in DA case along with 4 abetters. Based on searches conducted on properties of Sri Santanu Mohapatra, Deputy Director & Project Director, Watershed, Malkangiri, Dist-Malkangiri, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets (DA) including 1 multi storeyed building, 4 high value plots, gold approx 422 gms, deposits over Rs.91 lakhs, cash of Rs. 2 crore, etc, which he could not explain satisfactorily.
Following this, Sri Santanu Mohapatra, Deputy Director & Project Director, Watershed, Malkangiri has been placed under arrest by Odisha Vigilance and will be forwarded to Court for possession of disproportionate assets.
Further, 4 accomplices of Sri Mohapatra namely Sri Mohan Mandal, Asst Agriculture Engineer, Sri Biswajit Mandal, DEO, Sri Amiyakanta Sahu, Contractual Staff , Sri Alekh Pradhan, Private Person have also been placed under arrest for abetting Sri Mohapatra in accumulation of huge amount assets and pecuniary resources disproportionate to their known sources of income.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS case No.02/2025 has been registered against Sri Santanu Mohapatra, Deputy Director & Project Director, Watershed, Malkangiri, his spouse and his accomplices.Investigation of the case is in progress.
