BHUBANESWAR: In a historic step towards transparency in governance, Odisha Govt will maintain E-Muster Roll and ensure direct payment of wages to labourers for all works being implemented by line depts. Chief Minister M Naveen Patnaik reviewed E-Muster Roll to be implemented from 2nd Oct, under #5T charter, Odisha CMO said.
E-Muster Roll will ensure stricter monitoring of payment of minimum wages, ESI and EPF. It will be applicable for projects worth more than ₹10 Cr being implemented by Works Department, Govt of Odisha Water Resources Department Government of Odisha, Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Odisha, Housing & Urban Development Department, Govt. of Odisha & Rural Development Odisha from 2nd Oct, the CMO said.
CM Patnaik directed all departments to have system in place by 1st January 2021 for universal implementation of E-Muster Roll. Reviewing progress of implementation of project, CM called it a critical step towards transparency and accountability in executing works. #MoSarkar, it added.
Meanwhile, to further improve connectivity in the State, Odisha Cabinet headed by CM Patnaik approved the construction of 993 metre-long High Level bridge over Subarnarekha River on Haldipada (NH16) in Baleswar district. The bridge will be built at a cost of ₹ 138 Cr, with targeted completion in 30 months.
