BHUBANESWAR: Hectic lobby has been started for the post of Odiha Director of Mines after the incumbent 1988 batch Indian Forest Service officer Debidutta Biswal appointed as the new Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force, Odisha.
Biswal had been serving as Director of Mines since July 2020 replacing Deepak Mohanty, and was as in-charge PCCF and Head of Forest Force following the retirement of former PCCF, Sisir Kumar Ratho on June 30.
With 15 major and 16 minor mineral blocks likely to put for auction in Odisha soon , the Steel and Mines Department is likely to choose a new Director to expedite the mining auction process.
