BHUBANESWAR: COVID-19 Spokesperson of Odisha Government, Subroto Bagchi was on Friday during his daily briefings said out of 3249 samples tested so far the number of positive cases stands at 48 and the number of COVID-19 active cases in Odisha is 45.
Bagchi informed that out of the total tally of 48, two persons have already been cured and discharged from Hospital and one patient has died. Besides, 113 persons are under Hospital Isolation today in different hospitals.
He further informed that 17 Private Hospitals have been notified by Health & Family Welfare Department, in Bhubaneswar as fever clinics and the general public have been advised to visit only these hospitals for treatment of Flu-like symptoms.
They are-AMRI, Kalinga, Nilachal, Sun Shine, Sparsh, Blue Wheel, CARE, Aswini-Aditya, Maa Shakti, Bhubaneswar, Vivekananda, Usthi, Padma, Gastro Kidney Care Hospitals and BMRI Institute & Nursing Home and Panda Nursing Home.
Separate arrangements have been made in these hospitals for the treatment of Flu-like symptoms. Besides treatment is available in Capital Hospital, RGH Rourkela & other District Headquarters Hospitals, added Bagchi.
Meanwhile, Odisha Health and Family Minister Naba Kishore Das, who has been missing from the main scene,apprised the latest situation of the state to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on COVID-19 outbreak and containment.
During discussion through video conferencing on Friday, Das said that the Odishas CM Naveen Patnaik has extended the lockdown till April 30. He requested Dr Harsh Vardhan to look into the suggestions of Odisha government relating to the extension of the lockdown period.
Das urged the Union Health Minister to ensure the supply of HCQS tablets, N-95 masks and vitamin C to the state immediately in view of the COVID -19 pandemic.
He further demanded that the state should be given five lakh PPEs and RTPCR kits for blood testing of coronavirus affected persons and added that the state needs 5000 RNA. Presently the state has 300 RNA, he added.
The minister said the government should prepare a guideline for SC/ST regions and said a special assistance package must be given to the state to fight the deadly coronavirus.
Das put forth his demand before the Union minister that the RCMR should be instructed to allow Burla, Berhampur, Bolangir and other hospitals in the state for blood testing. The Balasore AIIMS satellite hospital must also be equipped with a blood testing facility, he said.
It may be recalled that the centre has sanctioned Rs 46.35 crore as assistance to fight coronavirus, but Das demanded more for the same.
