BHUBANESWAR: Odisha State Road Transport Corporation has not purchased any big or small buses of the total 1340 purchased for LAccMI-Location Accessible Multi Modal Initiative while several private players were assigned for this on Gross Cost Contract Model –GCC Model, said Odisha Transports, Commerce, Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena while replying to MLA Amarendra Dash in the State Assembly.
The Minister said, these private players included M/s Adinath Bulk Pvt Ltd-Ahmadabad , M/s Antony Road Transport-Delhi, M/s Chartered Speed Ltd Ahmedabad -, M/s Kunal Transport-Bhubaneswar, M/s Progressive Transit Pvt Ltd-Delhi, M/s Travel Time-Pune, M/s RK City Bus Operation Pvt Ltd-Nagpur and M/s Sri Durgamba- Main Road, Kundapur,Karnataka.
Of the eight private players, only one from Odisha while rest from Ahmadabad , Delhi, Pune, Nagpur and Kundapur in Karnataka
The Minister said the scheme caused Rs 374 Crore Loss to State Exchequer between 12.10.2023 to19.08.2024.
