BHUBANESWAR: On Thursday, Ganesh Mallick, Revenue Supervisor, office of Land Acquisition Officer, Jagatsinghpur, at present Camp office at Special Land Acquisition Office, Paradeep and Sri Khirod Rath, Senior Amin, (after taking Voluntary retirement) engaged by AM/NS( Arcelor Mittal/ Nippon Steel) India Paradeep at Special Land Acquisition Office, Paradeep have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demand and acceptance of bribe of Rs.4000/- from a Complainant to process the file and to verify the required documents for facilitating payment process in his favour towards land acquisition for construction of AM/NS India, Paradeep.
As per direction of Sri Mallick, Revenue Supervisor, Khirod Rath, Retired Senior Amin, while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant was nabbed today by the Vigilance Officials. The entire bribe amount has been recovered from the possession of both Sri Mallick and Sri Rath Sr.Amin(retired) and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at one location of each from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case no.7 dt. 27-3-2024 U/s 7PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered.Investigation is in progress against both the accused persons Sri Mallick and Sri Rath.Detailed report follows.
