CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: 86th Odisha Police Formation Day – 2021 was observed in a befitting manner at OSAP 6th Bn. Cuttack, on Thursday . DGP Abhay took salute in a ceremonial parade organized for the purpose. DGP gave away trophies and cash prizes to the selected Police Officers and men for their meritorious services in the year 2020-2021. Some selected retired officers were felicitated on this occasion.
Senior Police Officers were present in the function. Six contingents comprising of SOG, O.S.A.P./IR Battalion (combined), APR (Women)/Traffic Constable (combined),O.D.R.A.F, O.S.A.F and Fire Services personnel participated in the ceremonial parade. Sri Lochan Pasayat, OAPS-I, Deputy Commandant, OSAP 1st Bn. Dhenkanal took the lead in the parade.
DGP expressed his gratitude to martyrs in counter LWE operations and corona warriors who laid down their lives. He expressed satisfaction at growth of Odisha Police from 4000 police personnel as on 1st April 1936 to over 60,000 personnel now.DGP expressed satisfaction over good performance of Odisha Police over last one year especially in the following fields.
DGP highlighted Corona enforcement work and corona humanitarian work. Counter naxal work specially in cut off area of Malkangiri.Work against drug trafficking specially seizure of brown sugar and ganja.Work in crime against women and children, especially tracing of missing children in last three months.Launch of dial 112.New faster passport verification.Strengthening of civil police by creation of more than 900 posts in over 200 PSs/OPs.DGP expressed his determination to continue to work with all members of Odisha Police for safety and wellbeing of Odisha residents.

Best Inspector-in-Charge of Police:- Inspr. Chintamani Pradhan of Sambalpur Dist.
Best Inspector of Police of C.I.D., C.B., Odisha, Cuttack:- Inspr. Gitanjalee Panda of CID, CB, Cuttack.
