BHUBANESWAR: Odisha police is in touch withGujarat police to trace drug peddler Chitrasen Parida illegal network outside Odisha. During financial investigation in STF P.S. Case No 29/2021, properties worth of more than Rs 2 crores, acquired by one noted drug peddler Chitrasen Parida S/o. Late Brundaban Parida of Chhachina PS. Kodala Town Dist. Ganjam out of illegal contraband Ganja (Cannabis/Marijuana/ Weeds) business have been identified. In this case, on 13.08.2021, contraband Ganja around 10 Quintals, one TATA Truck and other incriminating materials were seized.
The properties include two buildings, two numbers of vehicles (One Mini Bus & one Car), landed properties and Bank deposits etc. while the buildings have been evaluated by PWD R&B to be of worth around Rs 1.85 Crore. Valuation of other properties is in progress. It is also suspected that he might have acquired such properties in Gujarat too out of drug business. Odisha police is in touch with Gujarat police in this regard.
Step is being taken to take up the matter with Competent Authority, Kolkota as per provision of Sec. 68 (F) NDPS Act, 1985 for forfeiture of the properties earned out of contraband drugs business.
It is worthwhile to mention that Chitrasen Parida was arrested in the above noted case on 10.03.2022 and was forwarded to the court of Dist & Sessions Judgecum-Spl. Judge, Balasore. The details of cases are furnished below in which accused Chitrasen Parida wanted by Gujarat Police & Malkangiri Police:
i. Surat City Katagram Police Station Case No. 384/2009 U/s 22(c)/29 NDPS Act.
ii. Surat City PUNA Station Case No. 113/2010 U/s 8(c)/20(b)(ii)(c)/29 NDPS Act.
iii. Ollpad Police Station Sural Rual Case No. Part B-11214042220202/2022 U/s.

iv. Chitrokonda PS case No.139 dated 23.10.2021 U/s. 20(b)(ii)(c)/25/27/29 NDPS
