BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: DGP Abhay in a video message on Tuesday claimed that the State Police have executed around 3,488 Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) during a 10-day special drive .
DGP said, the State Police had conducted a special drive from November 5 to November 14 for execution of Non-Bailable Warrants while some 3,488 Non-Bailable Warrants were executed in 10 days drive.
Of total arrests, 2,392 warrants were in GR cases, 400 warrants in sessions trial cases and 696 warrants were in other cases. Balangir police, which have been under scanner over lady teacher , Mamita Meher murder case, execute 592 warrants followed by 551 in Ganjam district and 516 in Khordha district.
During the state wide special drive for execution of NBWs, Kandhamal police has executed 183 NBWs and otherwise disposed off 95 NBWs. These arrestees will now face trial in the court of law.Nayagarh Police has successfully reduced around 20% of NBW pendency within 07 days. Under this special drive total 101 NBWs executed and 55 are disposed off.
During this warrant drive, 2,648 NBWs were otherwise disposed off, DGP added.
