CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: Former DGP Odisha Sarat Mishra, IPS, 1959 batch, breathed his last after a brief illness. He was 88, served as DGP Odisha in 1991-92.
Mishra was receiving medical care at a hospital after contracting dengue. Mishra, an IPS officer from the 1959 batch, had a lengthy career in the Research and Analysis Wing (R & AW). After retirement he devoted his time for DAV Movement & to writing.
Sarat Chandra Mishra was also first Chairman of OSSC.
‘Shri Sarat Chandra Mishra, IPS, former DGP of Odisha, left for his heavenly abode today morning in a private hospital at Bhubaneswar. Shri Mishra leaves a legacy of selfless service to the people of Odisha. His contributions will always be remembered, Odisha Police said in an X post.
