BHUBANESWAR: With Droupadi Murmu all set to take oath as 15th and first tribal woman President, voting to her , seems costing dearly to Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammed Moquim following a show cause notice issued against him by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee.
The Congress MLA Moquim had casted his vote to NDA President candidate Draupadi Murmu against the party’s decision and had argued that he voted for Draupadi Murmu giving respect to the sentiments of the people of Odisha as she belongs to his own State.
OPCC Chief Sarat Pattanayak asked the legislator to submit his response in two weeks. “Please explain within two weeks why disciplinary action shall not be taken against you as deemed proper as per the Constitution of the Indian National Congress (INC) and its rules,” the PCC said in the notice, which was read out by PCC Spokesperson, Satya Nayak on Friday.
