BHUBANESWAR: The whereabouts of Odisha cadre IPS officer of 1998 batch, NB Bharathi, now a headache for State Government as the Karnataka born woman officer is missing from the scene since past 3 years.

As per Odisha police IPS list, Bharathi is IGP (HRPC) posted at Cuttack. Bharathi is facing disciplinary proceedings since November 23, 2007 while on January 3, 2020, SCRB Director Binaytosh Mishra was assigned to probe allegations against Bharathi.

The woman IPS officer did not responding official communication from Odisha Home Department and State Police Headquarters. At least 3 letters sent to Bharathi in 3 different postal addresses, which was remained unanswered.

The State Government has issued a notice to Bharathi for her alleged professional misconduct and dereliction of duty.

As the Home Department could not reach the 1998-batch IPS officer Bharathi to serve the notice through any means, the concerned department reportedly put up the notice outside her office inside Odisha Police Headquarters premises at Buxi Bazaar in Cuttack.

Earlier on November 23, 2017, a notice along with articles of charges, statement of imputation of misconduct and memo of evidence were served to her through post in which she was directed to submit a written statement in her defence within 30 days.
