BHUBANESWAR: The Pro People Industrial policy of Naveen Patnaik led Government in Odisha missing no stone unturned with State Industry Department led by able Hemanta Sharma, has fast tracked 23 major projects including Naveen Jindal led Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Laxmi Mittal led AMNS and Mahesh Agarwal led Sree Metaliks Ltd. With Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra and Development Commissioner, PK Jena working overtime, Industry Secretary Sharma, taking the lead and holding project- wise review.
The investors and project proponents placed their problems. Mainly the issues relating to advance possession of Government land, operation of truck unloading station at Dubuna, issue of NOC under the Forest Rights Act, permission of enhanced stacking of iron ore, road connectivity, water supply, allotment of non-forest Government land and approach road, were discussed and resolved.
Officials said several the projects in Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur districts were reviewed. The projects in Keonjhar district included Arcelormittal Nippon Steel India Private Limited, JSW Steel Limited, Sree Metaliks Limited, MSP Sponge Limited, Pro Minerals , Jindal Steel and Power Limited and establishment of IDCO industrial estate.
Similarly, the projects in Sundargarh district included JSW Cement, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited. , Shree Hari Sponge Private Limited, KAI International Private Limited., Shiva Cement Limited ( Plant Area), Scan Steel Limited, Agrasen Sponge Limited., Adhunik Metaliks, Suraj Product and industrial estate IDCO. The hotel project of Deo Residency, C J Darcel Logistic Pvt. Ltd., Saizar Logistics Ltd. and industrial estate of IDCO ongoing in Jajpur district; and Anvil Cables project for development of new industrial estate under implementation in Mayurbhanj district were also reviewed.
JSPL would make its Angul Steel Plant the world’s largest and greenest single-location steel plant, thus putting Odisha on the global steel map. JSPL’s Vision 2030 focuses on enhancing the capacity of its 6 MTPA Angul integrated steel plant. At our existing steel plant, we are producing steel through one of its kind technology wherein Swadeshi Coal is being used to produce Synthesis Gas which is utilised for production of DRI. The Angul steel plant will expand its total capacity to 25.2 MTPA through clean energy resources with an additional investment of Rs 1.20 lac crore by 2030.
