BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Special Relief Commissioner PK Jena was on Monday officially announced that the State Government has extended the lockdown period till April 30 midnight keeping the present situation in mind in fight against COVID-19.
Jena said since the past several weeks, the government along with different stakeholders have been successful in containing the spread of COVID-19.
The Government had earlier declared lockdown till April 15 but it has now been extended till April 30 midnight.
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive cases are on a rise in the country, Odisha managed to curb the spread of the deadly virus.As per reports, all samples sent for Covid-19 examination on April 12 have tested negative.
Of the 4170 tested samples (cumulative), there are 40 active cases as on April 13 (9 AM), the data suggested.While the health department stated that the number of positive cases remained at 54, total of 13 persons have recovered.
