Odisha enhances Retirement Age of Doctors from 62 to 65

BHUBANESWAR: Strengthening Odisha’s fight against #COVID19 further, CM Naveen Patnaik has announced to enhance retirement age of Medical Officers of OHMS cadre & Allopathic Insurance Medical Officers under Labour & ESI Department, Government of Odisha from 62 years to 65 years.

CM  Patnaik also sanctioned ₹20.64 Cr from CMRF for running of new dedicated Covid hospitals and Covid Care Centres for next three months in Khordha & Cuttack districts. In Khordha district, a 150-bed dedicated Covid Hospital including 30 bed ICU will be set up by Aditya Ashwini Hospital.

Another 126 bed dedicated Covid Hospital with 15 ICU beds will be operational this week at Neelachal Hospital while 1385 beds in Covid Care Homes to be established with help of communities & corporates. ₹15 Cr has been sanctioned to Khordha from CMRF to fight the pandemic.

In Cuttack district, 925 additional beds in Covid hospitals and Covid Care Centres are being established and ₹15 Cr has been sanctioned to fight the pandemic. There will be special focus on the congested areas of the city through active involvement of Puja Committees and Sahi Commitees.

The Molecular Genome Lab in SCB Medical will be upgraded for viral and human host genome sequencing for prognosis of #COVID19 patients and a training and information centre to be operational at the hospital soon.
