BHUBANESWAR: For the first time in Odisha, Engineers’ Service Association urging a Engineer-In-Chief to not accept a State Government offer of service extension following his retirement.
The Odisha Engineers’ Service Association (OESA) in a letter to Er. Chandrasekhar Padhi, OSD-Cum-Engineer-In-Chief, requested to decline his recent post-retirement re-engagement as the Engineer-In-Chief (EIC) of Water Resources, Odisha.
‘Your re-engagement Vide -DoWR Notification PT-1WR-FEI-HR0012-2021, 17920/WR dated July 3, 2025 in the cadre post of EIC, WR has given immense pain to the members of OESA, While condemning such appointment OESA has denounced this act of Government and has moved to the Chief Minister for review and reconsideration of the decision in the larger interest of serving engineers of State, OESA wrote to Er. Chandrasekhar Padhi, OSD-Cum-Engineer-In-Chief.
OESA President Er. Biranchi Narayan Pradhan , General Secretary Er. Trinath Behera, Joint Secretary-cum-Treasurer Er.Prafulla Kumar Behera expressed anger over the re-engagement.
The Association further cited a previous appeal made on November 6, 2019, where engineering professionals were urged not to accept or show interest in post-retirement engagements in regular cadre posts. OESA hope that he will withdraw his decision to assume the re-appointed cadre post.
