BHUBANSWAR: Odisha Police Crime Branch’s STF, special drive against the wildlife criminals, poachers is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized as many as 26 Nos. of elephant tasks.
On Thursday, on the basis of reliable information, a team of STF conducted raid with the help of Angul Forest Officials on 01.06.2022 near village Kandhakoili under Purunakote PS Dist. Angul regarding dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals, as a result of which one wildlife criminal namely Duryadhan Pradhan S/o. LateRamachandra Pradhan of Betara, Kandhakoili PS: Purunakote in Angul was apprehended.
During search 02 numbers Elephant Tusk weighing 04 kg 500 gram and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession. The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possession of such Elephant Tusks, for which he has been detained and handed over to Angul Forest Officials for necessary legal action at their end.
