BHUBANESWAR: With fresh 5 persons including male aged 39, 49,16,48,and 45 tested positive for COVID-19 in Ganjam district taking total count to 294 in Odisha. According to Odisha Government’s COVID dashboard updates, the tally in the state stands at 294 with 227 active cases so far.With surge of 5 more cases in Ganajm, the number in the district rose to 89.
After Bhubaneswar and Jajpur, the Ganjam , home turf of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has started giving sleepless nights to State Government with the southern district alone reported 89 positive cases out of the total 294 cases.
After 17 more new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the State, Odisha I&PR department has released the initial report regarding their details.As per available reports, 12 positive cases were detected in Ganjam, one positive was tested in Bhadrak, three positives were in Mayurbhanj and one positive in Rourkela.
While all the persons tested positive in Ganjam, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj are Surat returnees, the person tested in Rourkela is from Within containment zone. All of them are identified to be males.While several measures are being taken by the Odisha government to contain the virus, district administrations are on their toes as they launch contact tracing.
