Odisha COVID-19 Death toll reaches at 70, Positive cases touches 13,737

BHUBANESWAR: With 7 more deaths including 6 for COVID-19 and 1 for other reasons, the death toll of Odisha on  Monday reached at 70 with positive cases touching at all time high at 13,737.

Those who died due to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at hospitals have been identified as a 45-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes and Hypertension, a 67-year-old man of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease, a 63-year-old man of Ganjam district, a 40-year-old man of Cuttack district, a 72-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Heart disease and Chronic Kidney Disease.

A 49-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes, the Health Department said. On the other hand, a 17-year-old COVID-19 male patient of Ganjam passed away due to terminal Lung Cancer, the department said.

Meanwhile, number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha mounted to 13737 as 616 more persons tested positive for the virus, official sources said.Out of the 616  cases, 415 were detected in quarantine while 201 are local contact cases.With this, the number of active cases in the state rose to 4896 while 8750 persons have recovered from the disease so far.
