BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while lauding the 74th Independence Day speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reiterated that eastern State of Odisha continued to remain the Nerve Centre for Modi’s “Mission Purvodaya”.
While sharing 4 photos in which, Prime Minister seen addressing a meeting in Odisha, addressing from the ramparts of Red Fort in New Delhi and a dazzling Eastern India which houses big Petroleum projects, Union Minister Pradhan wrote in his social media page Facebook timeline, “Today, #Purvodaya is bridging the gap of development in eastern and north-eastern states prevalent due to years of political neglect and it has begun the journey of becoming what it is meant to be,”.
“Vindicating PM Narendra Modi ji’s commitment to the development of eastern India, the petroleum sector itself has witnessed an investment of ₹41,000 crores in the last 5 years in Odisha, including in expansion of CGD network, LPG pipelines, petrochemicals, refineries, etc.
To further accelerate the development of domestic steel sector and make Odisha the nerve centre of #MissionPurvodaya in steel, an integrated steel hub is proposed in Odisha, which is expected to produce 100 MT of the 300 MT national steel production target,” the Union Minister wrote in his post.
“Poised to become the energy gateway of the east with massive efforts and investment towards port-led development, petrochemicals and other downstream industries, Odisha will also become the epicentre of India’s overall steel industry,” he said. “Capital investment of more than 5 lakh cr. in the envisioned steel hub accompanied by #MakeInIndia & #VocalForLocal will enhance economic opportunities,create more than 25 lakh jobs in the region,lead to prosperity of Odisha and contribute to the making of an #AatmaNirbharBharat,” he said.
“India’s east brims with enormous potential. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji had declared that the growth of India is incomplete without the growth and development of eastern and north-eastern region.Launched from the ramparts of the Red Fort three years ago, Mission Purvodaya, through consistent policy reforms, infrastructure development and connectivity, has poised India’s east and north-eastern regions to emerge as a key driver of the national economic growth.Industries, investments and incentives,” the Union Minister added.
