Odisha Congress MLAs Rides Bicycles to reach State Assembly after Petrol Prices Touches Rs 100

BHUBANESWAR: Several senior Congress MLAs including Sura Routray, Tara Bahiniapati and Adhiraj Panigrahi on Tuesday reached State Assembly to attend the ongoing Budget session while riding bicycles after the prices of petrol per litre reached Rs 100 in Odisha.

Petrol price has reached record high of Rs 100.29 (premium) and Rs 97.14 (normal petrol) per litre in Kalimela block of Malkangiri district. The price is nearing Rs 100 in several other parts of the state.In Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, petrol is priced at Rs 91.66 and Rs 91.95, respectively.

“The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created ‘Bure Din’ for the citizens instead of ‘Acche Din’ promised by him earlier,” said MLA Bahinipati. National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) members smeared an Ujjwala Yojana poster featuring PM Narendra Modi, tore it, and raised slogans against him, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at a fuel station in Bhubaneswar.
