BHUBANESWAR: Today was the 15th session of the Chief Minister’s grievance hearing program. Today, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, who came directly from Keonjhar, heard the grievances of the people at the grievance hearing room at Unit-2, Bhubaneswar. Along with the Chief Minister, 8 senior ministers of the cabinet were also present and heard the grievances of the people.
Through the Chief Minister’s Grievance Redressal Cell, the common man can directly convey his problems and grievances to the government and administration. The government gives equal importance to all the grievances and resolves them. In the Grievance Redressal Cell, the concerned officer is also directly instructed to resolve the grievances expeditiously, considering the importance of the grievance.
Out of the 12,950 complaints received through the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell in the last 14 sessions, 12,371 complaints have been resolved. That is 96 percent. The remaining 579 complaints are under process. Due to the Chief Minister’s consistent efforts to resolve the problems of the people, the people’s trust in the government has increased.
As usual, the Chief Minister came first thing in the morning and met 34 differently-abled and chronically ill people waiting outside and listened to their problems. He received their complaint letters and directed the officials present to take immediate action. After this, he listened to the complaints of the complainants who had registered inside the room.
In a statement to the media, the Chief Minister said, “Our government is a people’s government. We are committed to providing all basic amenities, opportunities and support to the people.”
He further said that grievance redressal programmes are being held regularly by the District Collectors at our district level as well. The District Collectors and SPs have been instructed in the last District Collectors and SPs conference to resolve the grievances coming at the district level there. Due to this, most of the problems can be resolved by the local administration. People will not have to come to Bhubaneswar with their problems.
Among the complainants who came today, a woman beneficiary came specially to thank the Chief Minister for resolving her long-standing problem. Since some of the complainants were concerned about their personal problems, the Chief Minister explained them by giving them hope and assurance and promised to resolve the problem.
Today, along with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Shri Kanak Bardhan Singh Deo, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Shri Suresh Pujari, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Dr. Krishna Chandra Mohapatra, Minister for Commerce and Transport, Steel and Mines Shri Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Minister for Cooperatives, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Shri Pradeep Bala Samanta and Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Labour and Employees State Insurance Shri Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Fisheries and Livestock Development Shri Gokulanand Mallick were present and listened to the grievances of the people.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Shri Satyabrat Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Grievances and Public Administration Department, Shri Surendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Shri Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Shashwat Mishra and senior secretary-level officers of other departments were present and assisted in the grievance redressal process.
