MUMBAI/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday visited the Bombay Stock Exchange at Dalal Street in Mumbai and attended the ceremony to ring opening bell. BSE Chairman SS Mundra was also present.
‘For investors looking forward to invest, Odisha is indeed a place to be. Appeal investors to take advantage of conducive business ecosystem, friendly facilitation service and policies,” CM Patnaik said.
Earlier on Wednesday, while addressing the Odisha Investors Meet jointly hosted by State Government and FICCI at Mumbai’s Trident Hotel, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, ‘Odisha grew from Agri-Centric to an Industry-Driven Economy,”. Chief Minister Patnaik appealed to investors to have a look on Odisha.“Over the last 20 years, my government has focused on leveraging these natural advantages through progressive policy, efficient administration and technological interventions,’’ CM Patnaik said.
State’s Industry, Energy, MSME Minister Pratap Deb, said, “With nearly 200 engineering colleges and 1,000 ITIs, we are creating the most skilled workforce in the country. We have recently established World Skill Centre (WSC), a premier advanced skill training institute, in Odisha. In order to fully realize the potential of the youth and entrepreneurs in the state, we have launched Start-Up Odisha campaign.”
Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra, Industry Secretary Hemant Sharma and 5T Secretary VK Pandian were among those present in the meeting. Well known industrialists, investors, bankers were attending the Meet. Over 300 delegates from various corporate houses participated in the investors’ meet.
Earlier, Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal, Aditya Birla Group Chairperson, KM Birla, Rakesh Jha, Executive Director, ICICI Bank Ltd and Bimal Khandelwal, CFO, STT DGC India Pvt. Ltd , Dhruv Kotak, Chairman, JM Baxi Pvt. Ltd and Chaitanya Desai , Chairman, Apar Industries Ltd, Chairman State Bank of India, Dinesh Kumar Khanna , Anand Mahindra, Group Chairman, Mahindra Group and Chairman Waaree Engineers Mr Hitesh Joshi have met Odisha Chief Minister Patnaik at Mumbai.
This was 3rd such event in the run up to the Global Investors Meet – “Make In Odisha 2022” slated from November 30- December 04, 2022, in State Capital city of Bhubaneswar. Already 2 meets have been conducted, one at Dubai and another at Delhi recently.
