BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was on Monday suggested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come up with National Standard Operating Procedure for rebooting economic activities as our production lines & value addition processes cutting across state boundaries. A national SOP will guide a unified response for rebooting economy, the Chief Minister Patnaik argued while participating in a video conference with Prime Minister Modi on COVID-19 and lockdown issues.

“Suggest Union Govt. to come up with National Standard Operating Procedure for rebooting economic activities as our production lines & value addition processes cutting across state boundaries. A national SOP will guide a unified response for rebooting economy,” Odisha Chief Minister twitted.

The Chief Ministter Patnaik also requested the States to share manifest of travelling passengers before they are sent to Odisha. Rail movements may be regulated in consultation with States as being done for stranded persons, he said.

Union Government may modify existing schemes to incentivise & actively involve Panchayat Raj institutions in #COVID19 management. As the fight is going to be long, it is important that we involve Panchayats for a system based response.

“As regards lockdown and other regulations, we should have broad principles at national level and allow decentralised implementation. A smaller, scientific unit can replace district as unit for zoning, and we should allow local administration to decide this area,” he added.
