BARIPADA/BHUBANESWAR: Ending all speculations, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday handed over the first installment of Subhadra Yojana in the second phase to more than 35 lakh beneficiaries at a function held at Baripada in Mayurbhanj.
As on date, 1 Crore 60 thousand women beneficiaries of Odisha have registered under Subhadra Yojana, CM Majhi said.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Women and Child Development Prabhati Parida graced the occasion.
Around 35 lakh women on Wednesday received Rs 5,000 each in their bank accounts as part of the second phase of the disbursement process of Subhadra Yojana, implemented by the Odisha Government.
The Chief Minister Majhi, facilitated the transfer of funds into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts during a ceremony at Chau Ground in Baripada.
Women who did not receive the funds during the first phase due to various reasons were included in this second phase. Those who had completed their applications by October 7th were credited with the money today.
The Subhadra Yojana was launched in the state on September 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event in Bhubaneswar.
