BHUBANESWAR:   While carrying the hopes and aspirations of 4.50 Crore Odias and blessings of Shree Lord Jagannath, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday embarked on a 4-Days official Trip to Singapore to  attract Global Investors and Industry Captains ahead of the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Summit.

As the State geas up for the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Summit, this international endeavour reaffirms its vision of becoming a major hub for industrial excellence and economic prosperity. Chief Minister Majhi was accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad and senior State Government officers.

Speaking to media persons before leaving for Singapore from Bhubaneswar, Shri Majhi said, “Our message will be clear that Odisha is open for business, and we are ready for it.”

Chief Minister said Singapore is famous for its businesses in the fields of chemicals, petrochemicals, green energy, logistics, ship making, financial services, electronics, semiconductors and others.

“They (Singapore) have a good presence in these fields. We will meet them, so that businesses come to Odisha,” he told reporters, adding that the trip will be helpful in furthering Odisha’s industrial growth and economic development.

The Chief Minister said that when investors will think about investing in India, Odisha will be their first choice for doing business.

“We will discuss with the business heads and make them aware of Odisha’s resources and skilled manpower and industrial policy and organise a road show,” he added.

The objectives include showcasing the state’s dynamic investment landscape and export potential, highlighting the capabilities of Odisha’s fully operational ports at Dhamra, Paradip, and Gopalpur, crucial for import-export activities and global trade.

The Chief Minister and his delegation will engage in a series of high-level meetings and discussions aimed at promoting Odisha’s investment potential. The delegation will visit Singapore’s renowned industrial and infrastructure facilities including the Jurong Petrochemicals Region, the Tuas Port and ITEES, accruing new ideas and inspiration to implement advanced solutions at similar facilities in Odisha, officials said.

The delegation will also interact with top officials, including Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Trade and Industry, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, to exchange insights on investment and trade opportunities.

In addition, a roadshow and interactive sessions, will be organized to showcase “Business Opportunities in Odisha. The delegation will also connect with industry associations and the Odia diaspora in Singapore to strengthen economic and cultural ties, inviting them to participate in the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Summit.

“This visit is not just about attracting investments but also about acquiring knowledge from Singapore’s advanced industrial practices. We are particularly interested in their innovations in technology, manufacturing, and skill development” Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said.

“By inviting them to Utkarsh Odisha 2025, we are opening doors for collaborative growth and shared prosperity. Our goal is to ensure Odisha’s continued progress on a global scale while creating opportunities for skill development and employment in our State,” Minister Swain said.

The State Government said it is committed to driving industrial growth, skill development, and sustainable investments. The Singapore visit, marking the first step in the global outreach of the Majhi administration, is expected to pave the way for future collaborations, bringing new investments to Odisha’s shores.
