BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurates two days International Convention on Millets at Janta Maidan here in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
Minister, Agriculture & FE and Fisheries & ARD Ranedra Pratap Swain, Union Secretary, DA&FW Manoj Ahuja, Principal Secretary Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Department of Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts, Arabinda K Padhee, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Director A&FP, Prem Chaudhary, Dy Country Director, World Food Program Nozomi Hashimoto, Director, ICAR Dr Himanshu Pathak, FAO representative in India, Takayuki Hagiwara, 3X Grammy® Award Winner Rickey Kej , Celebrity Chef Vikas Khanna and others were among those present.
Chief Minister Patnaik encouraged all to spread words about Millets Mission to every eligible farmer so that they can be a part of the journey to ensure justice and equity.
He also added that, under the brand of Millet Shakti & Mission Shakti, SHGs have shown the world our Millet-based enterprises can play an important role in appealing to taste buds of consumers and improve livelihoods.
“My Government will put all its efforts to make Odisha become a Centre of Excellence and contribute to economic growth, wellbeing and health of the people of Odisha,” he added.
National and International Representatives along with senior administrators were present on the occasion.
