BHUBANESWAR: Keeping in view the heat wave conditions in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed all schools upto class 10th and Anganwadi centres to remain closed from tomorrow (Wednesday, April 12, 2023) till April 16, 2023.
On arrival from Japan visit on Tuesday evening, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik immediately took review meeting with senior officers on heat wave condition & various health related facilities.
CM asked Panchayati Raj, House and Urban Development and Energy Departments to start preparedness in view of rising heat wave.
CM asked the concerned authorities to ensure smooth supply of drinking water both in urban and rural areas with special focus on water scarcity pockets. He also directed Energy Department to ensure continuous power supply to meet demands during heat wave conditions.
CM Patnaik also advised to keep in touch with professional Met Agencies to collect information about Monsoon and prepare advanced planning. Reviewing various activities of Health and Family Welfare. CM Patnaik expressed satisfaction on the functioning of BSKY scheme and advised prompt care to beneficiaries.
Officials briefed about the current COVID19 scenario in the country in general and Odisha in particular. Officials informed, the situation is well under control & massive awareness campaign is being carried out on this. CM advised to monitor the situation closely.
Chief Secretary PK Jena, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, 5T Secretary VK Pandian SRC Satyabrata Sahu , Secretaries of Panchayati Raj, House and Urban Development and Energy , Health and Family Welfare and other departments were among those present.
