PURI/BHUBANESWAR: Ahead of the World famous Rath Yatra of Shree Lord Jagannath and his siblings Shree Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, on Sunday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida on Saturday cleaned the Grand Road Saradhabali, on which three Gigantic Chariots will roll down following Sweeping Ceremony(Chera Pahara) conducted by Puri King Gajapati Maharaj Dibya Singh Deb.
The Chief Minister Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers Singh Deo and Parida swept the Grand Road as part of a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organized in this pilgrimage city for Rath Yatra. Puri BJP MP Dr Sambit Patra was also present.
On Sunday, Shree Lord Jagannath and his siblings will embark on a weeklong journey to aunt’s house located at Maa Shree Gundicha Temple on Saradhabali.
‘I feel blessed to be involved in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organized at Puri Bada Danda( Grand Road) ahead of the Holy Rath Yatra. Tomorrow, Shree Lord Srijagannath, Shree Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra will leave the jewelled throne (Ratna Singhashan) and give direct darshan to lakhs of devotees in Bada Danda’, ‘ CM Majhi said.
