BHUBANESWAR: After Orissa High Court denied to came into his rescue on Thursday, Odisha CID- CB’s Economic Offences Wing arrested BJD Leader and VK Pandian-Babby Das Right-Hand in Keonjhar-Sundargarh Mining Belt , Mines Mafia Raja Chakra alias Soumya Shankar.
On the basis of a complaint filed by a villager residing near the Gandhamardan mines in Keonjhar district, the EOW had registered a case under sections 406, 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, and 120-B of the IPC on February 7 and started an investigation into the matter.
The EOW arrested Biju Yuva Janata Dal’s State Vice-President Raja Chakra, in connection with a multi-crore scam connected to the Gandhamardhan Loading Agency & Transporting Co-operative Society Ltd.
The EOW said that the he investigation revealed that the loading agency had earned around ₹185 crores from 2017-18 to March 2024.
