BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Electoral Officer on Monday, held an all-party meeting for bypoll to the Padampur Assembly Constituency in Odisha’s Bargarh.
As per decisions taken at the meeting, voting will be held from 7 am to 4 pm on the scheduled day of December 5 and results are scheduled to be declared on December 8. While the last date of filing nomination papers is November 17, scrutiny of the papers will be held on November 18. The last date of withdrawing candidature is November 21.
BJD fielded Barsha Singh Bariha, daughter of late MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha, as its candidate for the bypoll. The BJP and Congress have named Pradip Purohit and Satya Bhusan Sahu as their nominees for the bypoll, respectively.
