BHUBANESWAR: Visiting Chief Minister of eastern Indian State of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday drew the attention of global investors in Japan towards State’s fastest growing economies which grown above the national average in the last decade and a half decades.
CM Patnaik was addressing Odisha Business Meet in Tokyo. State’s Industry , Energy and MSME Minister Pratap Keshari Deb, Chief Secretary PK Jena, 5T Secretary VK Pandian and Industry Secretary, Hemant Sharma were among those present during the meet.
CM, while addressing the event, said that Odisha is fast emerging as a major industrial destination because of natural resource advantage, strategic location. Abundant natural resources, skilled and productive human resources, progressive policies & strong result-oriented governance provide unique ecosystem.
Patnaik highlighted how Odisha is becoming fulcrum of trade and commerce in the Bay of Bengal region and the measures Odisha Government has taken to help industries looking to cater to the untapped markets in Eastern and North-Eastern India as well as markets in ASEAN and East Asia region.
Meanwhile, the Odisha Business Meet 2023 at Tokyo ended on a successful note with Odisha receiving investment intents of over Rs 25,000 Crore in sectors like Logistics, Metal Ancillary, Steel, Metal Downstream, Green Hydrogen & Green Ammonia, Green Energy Equipment Manufacturing and IT/ITeS.
Odisha Chief Minister Patnaik met eminent industrialists in Japan at the Odisha Business Meet organised at Tokyo. The CM also discussed with the Odia Diaspora investors regarding more investment in the State.
The business leaders Patnaik met are Koichiro Kimura (Asia Pacific Vice Chairman and Japan Group Chairman), Masafumi Takeshita( Director on the Board & Managing Officer, Krosaki Harima Corporation), Nobutaka Ushigome (President, TYK Corporation).The president of Indian Commerce and Industry Association in Japan, Jagmohan S Chandrani also met the chief minister. Both discussed regarding investment opportunities in the State.
