NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha BJP MPs led by Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday met Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar in New Delhi. Union Minister Pratap Sarangi, MPs including Kalahandi MP Basant Panda, Sambalpur MP Nitish Gangdeb, Balangir Sangeeta Singh Deo and Mayur bhanj MP Engineer Bishweswar Tudu were among those present.

“Along with parliamentary colleagues from BJP Odisha met with Narendra Singh Tomar to seek his intervention on glaring inconsistencies and a large number of irregularities reported in the selection of beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana in Odisha,” Union Minister Pradhan twitted.

The needy people of Odisha are being deprived of housing facilities, including those vulnerable to natural disasters.

The MPs have requested Shri Narendra Singh Tomar to institute an inquiry against the lack of scrupulousness and flagrant preferentialism in allotments of PMAY housing funds.

Pucca house for every Indian is central to PM Modi’s vision for #NewIndia. It is distressing to note that a large number of irregularities have been reported and funds under PMAY have been misappropriated with blatant favouritism depriving the eligible & unserved Odia population.

“I have also requested Narendra Singh Tomar to ascertain the extent of deviation from the central guidelines in the preparation of #PMAY beneficiary list and prohibiting the state govt. from renaming any centrally sponsored scheme to make sure that the original scheme reaches the people,” Pradhan added.
