FRANKFURT/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Day was celebrated in Germany with much pomp, splendour and fanfare. The Auspicious Ceremony witnessed the mega Launch of First ever registered Odia Organisation entitled, “ Utkal Samaj Rhein – Main in the Frankfurt Rhein – main region of Germany. The Festival venue at the Community Hall of Zaika Restaurant in Frankfurt was decked up aesthetically with hues of colourful cottons, flowers and lights befitting to the Grand Occasion and was wearing the lavish look of a Mini Odisha.
The entire ambience of the meeting place was agog with Festive Fervour. Lots of excitements and enthusiasms were clearly visible among the Odias and Odisha lovers gathered to take part in the Gala Show. The moods of the gathering was euphoric and upbeat because of the double Celebrations for the observation of 88th Utkal Divas and Inauguration of Utkal Samaj.
The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Guests and Organisers. Presenting Welcome address the President of Utkal Samaj Bibhu Ashis Mohanty elaborated the main vision of the verein to promote, propagate and popularise the essence, excellence and fragrance of Odisha in Germany and sought everyone’s co –operation and collaboration to materialise the lofty mottos of the Samaj.
Delivering his speech the Vice – President of the Samaj Amit Kumar Rawal highlighted the mission of the newly formed association to unite and sensitise Odias settled in Germany and ensure their dedication, devotion and commitment towards the all round advancement of our mother State Odisha. Speaking on the Occasion Treasurer of the Samaj Namrata Mohapatra, presented a brief account on the financial status of this Non – profit outfit and appealed for generous contributions with an aim to strengthen the base of Brand Odisha in Germany.
The Guests of Honour Consulate General of India’s Representative Amar Pal Meena and Co – Founder of Real Team India and Friends Kamal Vatsain in their speeches profusely appreciated the launching of Utkal Samaj with a noble aim of proliferating rich and vibrant Odia Culture basing on togetherness and inclusiveness and assured full co – operation and support for the furtherance of the Organisation.
The mammoth Event also showcased goodwill video messages from the Chairman of World Odisha Society Kishore Dwibedi and Celebrities of Odisha wishing all success of the newly launched Utkal Samaj.
The special attraction of the celebration was the soul soothing recital of Bande Utkal Janani as a salutation to Mother State Odisha by the lady members of Utkal Samaj at the outset of the Ceremony.
