NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, who is on Central deputation and heading the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) has been included as a member of National Advisory Panel on Agriculture-Nutrition under Poshan Abhiyaan.
Tweeting about the development, the Odisha cadre and Odia IAS officer Padhee stated that “A nutrition-sensitive agriculture & (sustainable) food system would complement efforts towards a malnutrition-free India.”
Padhee did his PhD from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). Besides, he has also got an MPA degree from University of Birmingham, UK. It is during his time as Director, Agriculture and Food Production; the Odisha Agriculture Policy was adopted.
Notably, POSHAN Abhiyaan is a multi-ministerial convergence mission with the vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition free India by 2022. The objective of POSHAN Abhiyaan to reduce stunting in identified Districts of India with the highest malnutrition burden by improving utilization of key Anganwadi Services and improving the quality of Anganwadi Services delivery.
