Nuapada Kendu Leaf Workers thanked Prime Minister and Chief Minister for reducing the GST rate on Kendu Leaf from 18 to 5 percent

NUAPADA:Today, a huge gathering of more than 8,000 Kendupari Tolalis from 50 villages under the Nuapada Kendupari Range was held at the Sarabang Village Stadium grounds of Nuapada Block under the leadership of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, state executive member and Kendupari Tolalis leader Shri Yadumani Panigrahi.

Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanakbardhan Singhdeo, Revenue Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari, Food Supplies Minister Krishna Chandra Patra, MLA Shri Vijaya Dalabehera, Shri Umcharan Mallick, former State President Shri Bimbadhar Kuan, former Minister Shri Himanshu Shekhar Meher, BJP State Executive Member Prasanna Padhi were prominently present at today’s event.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari said that the decision of the people’s government and the people’s Chief Minister Mohan Majhi to reduce the price of kendu leaves, provide 25 percent bonus to tolalists and 5 percent incentive allowance to bandhei workers and signal staff, provide slippers, water bottles, hats on the head, 500 rupees for kendu leaves tolalists and 700 rupees for mosquito nets, blankets and lanterns to the workers is a welcome and final step and this will lead to the economic growth of kendu leaves tolalists.
Since a large number of the Kendupari Tolalis are located in my assembly constituency Patnagarh, I am aware of all their demands and problems. Your leader Yadubhai is always in touch with us to fulfill your demands and our government is sensitive and committed to the interests of lakhs of Kendupari Tolalis of the state. Their problems and demands are actively being considered by the state government, said the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Shri K.V. Singh Deo.
It is worth noting that a huge gathering of thousands of people has already been held in support of BJP candidate Jai Dholakia in Kuliyabandha village of Nuapada block on Friday and in Khaliyapali village on Saturday. Another huge gathering is going to be held in Satyayarbahal village of Komna block next Tuesday, said Shri Panigrahi.
