NTPC Ltd- Dulanga organises Vaccination Drive for Local Villagers

RANCHI/BHUBANESWAR: The company has inoculated more than 70,000 employees, workers and their family members across its 72 operations unitsThe second wave of Covid-19 has created havoc in the country and Sundergarh district is one of the most affected districts of Odisha. Amidst this Dulanga Coal Mining Project operating in Sundergarh district has been witnessing a big surge in covid cases. In order to contain the spread of the contagious virus, NTPC Dulanga Coal Mining Project took the initiative of organising a vaccination program for 45+ age-eligible persons at its Primary Health Centre located in the R&R colony on May 12, 2021.

 In this camp mainly workers of Mining Developer and Operator (MDO) and local project affected villagers and contractual workers e.g Security and catering staff of Darlipalli Super Thermal Power Project, Sundergarh were vaccinated. During the vaccination drive,55 beneficiaries were vaccinated, the project has kept a target of vaccinating 500 manpower count. Out of which 200 contract labourers of age 45+ are being covered on priority.

The initiative was taken under the able guidance of Group General Manager, Shri C.R.Barik in association with District Administration and CDMO, Sundargarh. The vaccination drive program shall continue to cover project affected people (PAPs), Contract labours etc as NTPC Dulanga is committed to providing a safe work environment in this pandemic situation.

 Vaccination drives have been undertaken across NTPC stations in coordination with respective state administration has ensured that its frontline workers, current and retired staff over 60 years and employees above 45 years get inoculated on priority. To date, NTPC has inoculated more than 70,000 employees, workers and their family members across its operations.

 The company aims to cover all eligible employees and their dependents under the protection of the vaccine. The vaccination drive has been running across 72 locations of NTPC, which includes the JVs and subsidiaries.
