NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters Celebrates 75th Republic Day

RANCHI/BHUBANESWAR: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at CMHQ, Ranchi on January 26, 2024 with great pride and patriotic fervour. Chief Guest of the event, Shri Animesh Jain ,Chief Executive Officer (CEO),NTPC Mining Limited (NML) & Regional Executive Director (RED), Coal Mining unfurled the tri-color flag to mark the celebrations.

On the occasion, Shri Jain said that NTPC has been the biggest contributor to the country’s energy security by lighting every fourth bulb of the country with an installed capacity of 73874 MW, and its coal mining business is playing a significant role in supporting the core business. He added that this fiscal *NTPC-NML has a record coal production of 27.5 MMT registering a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 65% with coal despatch of 28.5 MMT with 77% (YoY) in this fiscal year.*

He stated that *coal production commenced from Kerendari Coal Mining Project on 25.01.2024, and with this, it became the NTPC ‘s 5th Coal Mines to have coal production for fuelling NTPC*. He added that the Badam coal mining project will start coal production in the fiscal year 2023-24. On the occasion, Shri Jain complimented the employees for their commitment and dedication which has resulted in record coal production and despatch from its mines to NTPC power stations

CEO, NML & RED (Coal Mining) said that NTPC Mining Limited (NML) envisioning Atmanirbharta in Mining, Fuelling NTPC aims to achieve 50 MMT before NTPC turns 50 this year and shall cater to 30% of the coal requirement of NTPC’s coal requirement by 2030 and further aims to meet 50% of the coal requirement of NTPC by 2037.
