TALCHER: Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS) of Central PSU NTPC Ltd ash pipeline passing through the Jagganathpur village burst pouring toxic ash across the area, sources said.
The bursting of pipe carrying ash slurry gushed into houses, wells and farmlands. Reportedly, the incident occurred to the surprise of the locals and suddenly ash water flooded the area.The gushing of ash water into wells and tanks in the area has caused huge pollution.
Disappointment sparked as staffers of the TTPS did not arrive at the spot to solve the concerned problem. People have demanded that clean drinking water should be immediately provided in the area.
