BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: Once a single stone was unturned in and outside the historic Barbati Stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack city without the wish of former Secretary of Odisha Cricket Association Ashirbad Behera.
Now things have changed drastically after the Supreme Court revamped BCCI and State Bodies. But nightmare continued to haunt OCA’s former secretary Behera and led to his arrest.
On Wednesday, the District and Session Judge Court in Bhubaneswar for the second time rejected Behera’s bail plea.
Behera and owner of Hotel Solan Inn in Bhubaneswar, Kamalakanta Das were arrested by CBI on September 19 for their alleged links with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam. After the special CBI court issued a non-bailable arrest warrants, Behera was arrested from Cuttack whereas the hotelier was nabbed from Old Town area of Bhubaneswar.
Earlier Behera had moved a plea in the Special CBI court for granting him bail on health grounds. However, the court denied the former OCA secretary bail and sent him to judicial custody till October 1.
