CUTTACK: The General Council of NLU Odisha in its Special Meeting held on Saturday approved the 25% horizontal reservation to the domicile of state of Odisha across categories for the admission to Undergraduate and Post-graduate programmes at National Law University Odisha.
The Council also approved the following eligibility criteria for claiming this reservation:
Undergraduate Programme: Candidates who have passed 12th class or equivalent examination from the state of Odisha and secured at least 60% marks (or its equivalent grade) in the said examination from any recognized College/University in the state of Odisha.
Postgraduate Programme: Candidates who have passed Undergraduate law programme (B.A.LL.B.,/B.B.A.LL.B.,/LL.B. etc) or equivalent examination and secured at least 50 % marks (or its equivalent grade) in the said examination from any recognized College/University in the state of Odisha.
Higher education department secretary Saswat Mishra had urged National Law University Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack, to reserve 25 per cent of seats in its under graduate courses for Students of Odisha
Mishra in a letter to the vice chancellor of the university said the students who have passed class XII or equivalent examinations from the state of Odisha shall be eligible for claiming reservation for admission under the state domicile quota.
