BHUBANESWAR: Nityananda Nayak Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of KL Division, Keonjhar, arrested by Odisha Vigilance for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, including a staggering 115 plots and a lavish farmhouse in Angul district.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act has been registered at Balasore Vigilance Police Station (Case No. 6/2025). Nayak was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar.

During house searches so far, the following assets were unearthed in the name of Sri Nayak and his family members;
1.*One four storeyed building with area approx. 9000 Sqft. at Turanga, Angul*.
2.*Total 115 nos. of plots*. Details as under;
i) 53 plots in name of Sri Nayak.
ii) 42 plots in name of his spouse.
iii) 16 plots in name of his two sons.
iv)  04 plots in name of his daughter.
Sri Nayak has purchased all the above plots in Chhendipada, Angul for the period from 1992 (since his entering into Govt. service as Range Officer) to 2024, while serving in different capacities such as Forest Range Officer, Asst. Conservator Forest, Dy. Conservator of Forest and Divisional Forest Officer.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
3.*Cash Rs.10.25 lakhs*.
4.Bank deposits, other deposits and investments over Rs 50.38 lakh.
5.2 four wheelers (Maruti Suzuki Dzire & Skoda Volkswagen Virtus) & 4 two wheelers.
